Purpose:
The Digital Literacy Skill Instructor improves the digital literacy skills of adults and young adults,  with a focus on those in Substance Use Disorder (SUD)  recovery,  seeking to enter or advance in post-secondary education and/or the workforce.   The Instructor will teach the digital literacy curriculum,  as well as reinforce basic adult education,  success skills,  and employment basics and facilitate graduates’  connections to additional programs that will advance their education and employment goals.

This is an Exempt position with a salary range of $37,000 -  $42,000.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality digital literacy lesson plans that deliver material to students of varying levels of experience and learning styles.
  • Create interactive,  collaborative and experiential learning projects and support an inclusive and engaging,  professional classroom atmosphere.
  • Supervise and guide trainees in a modeled workplace environment which sets the expectations of professionalism in the workplace.
  • Provide coaching and access to community-based,  educational,  and workforce resources.
  • Participate in community events and outreach activities to source prospective trainees.  Contact prospective trainees to secure commitment and resolve barriers to start.  Conduct information sessions and complete intake processes.

Qualifications / Career Path

Requirements:
  • A successful candidate will be committed to advancing racial equity,  hold individuals in SUD recovery in a positive regard,  and possess an unwavering belief in the potential of people.   Lived experience of SUD recovery is welcomed and encouraged.
  • Successful candidates will be strong team players who can also work independently and adapt to fast-paced and changing environment.   Must demonstrate the desire to create a hands-on,  interactive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are a must.
  • 3-5 years of applicable experience in community-based settings,  education,  or IT fields.
  • Advanced computer skills,  including mastery of Microsoft Office Suite Applications and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to travel to different worksites within the region on a daily basis.
